About University

Established in 1965, Chaudhary Charan Singh University (formerly Meerut University) has evolved into a premier educational institution in western Uttar Pradesh. Spanning 222 acres, its scenic campus boasts extensive facilities, including botanical gardens, a gymnasium, and a well-equipped library. Currently, it offers 22 UGC-sponsored and 35 self-financed courses across five faculties, addressing the evolving needs of society. Notably, the university’s alumni excel in various national exams, holding key positions in education, research, industry, and civil services. About SCRIET

Founded in 2002, Sir Chhotu Ram Institute of Engineering & Technology (SCRIET) is a constituent college of Ch. Charan Singh University, Meerut. It is a leading institution in Western U.P. dedicated to providing quality education in Engineering and Technology. Offering a four-year B.Tech. program in six branches, including Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Computer Science, SCRIET emphasizes industrial research and readiness in its curriculum. The institute also offers undergraduate courses in B.Sc. (Honors) Computer Science and BBA, along with postgraduate programs in MCA and MBA. With a unique pedagogical approach fostering interdisciplinary education, SCRIET aims to develop creative and critical thinking skills, transforming students into innovative professionals.

About the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) is a flagship initiative of the Government of India to foster rural development through higher education institutions. Launched in 2014, the program encourages universities and colleges to adopt villages and collaborate with local communities to address their developmental challenges. The primary focus is on sustainable and inclusive development, leveraging the knowledge and resources of educational institutions to create impactful solutions for rural issues. Unnat Bharat Abhiyan promotes the exchange of knowledge, technology, and resources between academic institutions and rural communities, fostering a spirit of social responsibility and contributing to the overall upliftment of rural areas across the country.

About the Meerut City

Meerut is a city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The city may have derived its name from “Mayarashtra” (Sanskrit: मयराष्ट्र), the capital of the kingdom of Mayasura (Mandodari’s father and Ravana’s father-in-law). This name may have mutated to Mairashtra, Mai-dant-ka-khera, Mairaath and eventually Meerut. The city lies 70 km northeast of the national capital New Delhi, and 453 km northwest of the state capital Lucknow. It is the largest producer of sports goods (also known as the “Sports City of India”, musical instruments, small industry goods (mainly scissors and handlooms), and the biggest gold market in Asia.
